Primrose Pond

This is a picture of the area along my front walk. The small pond is framed by primroses and lemon thyme. I still have some work to do to feel like this area is landscaped like I want, but I've been very happy with the pond. I also hope that my hubby will build me a small box around my mailbox post that I can plant primroses in. They bloom from spring to fall.

Garden quote

My Morning Spot

This is the spot where I spend time praying and studying God's Word in the mornings. The morning light was especially beautiful today. It comes up over the trees that are gently blowing in the cool wind outside my kitchen and dining room windows. It reminds me of the Scripture:

Psalm 5:3 - "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and look up."

Danny Fontana on Finance - New INSP Show

Below is a promo for a new show on the network where I work. I am an Executive Assistant in the Programming Department at The Inspiration Networks so all the people involved in the production of this show are my peers. It's fun being in the middle of something like this, even though all I'm actually doing is back office support. They're a fun bunch. This show will appear each weekday at 3:30pm on INSP. INSP can be found on various cable networks across the country, as well as on DISH-259 & DirecTV-364. Danny Fontana also currently appears as a guest of Neil Cavuto on FOX News.

Taste and See

Another good devotional I received today, this one by Derek Prince.

Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him NIV

Notice that first word, taste: "Taste and see that the Lord is good." You realize, of course, that we are endowed with five physical senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. What is it that’s distinctive about the sense of taste? I’ll tell you one distinctive feature of taste. If we see something, it’s external to us. If we hear something, it’s external. If we touch something, it’s still outside us. If we smell something, it may be still far from us. But there’s one thing about taste: when we taste something, we take it right into us and it becomes part of us. And I believe that’s why the Lord challenges us to "Taste and see." Don’t let the Lord remain external, don’t let Him remain something outside of you.

Paul says in the New Testament, "Christ in you, the hope of glory." You’ll never really have that hope of glory until you’ve actually tasted of the Lord, till you’ve taken Him within you, and then you’ll know for sure He is good. Not because the preacher says it, not because the radio evangelist declares it, but because you’ve proved it in your experience, you’ve tasted, you’ve invited the Lord to come in and be an integral part of your life. And when you do that, you’ll know He’s good.

Crooked Made Straight

Excerpts from devotional by Os Hillman.

"The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth" (Luke 3:5).

I love the Global Positioning Systems (GPS) in the new cars. A voice comes on and tells me how far I have to go and when to turn. However, sometimes I get off course and the voice says: "Recalculating route." The GPS is telling me I have gone off course and it is now recalculating the route based on my wrong turn. Sometimes we can make wrong turns in our spiritual lives. We think we are going the right direction only to discover it was never God's will to enter that relationship, make that business deal, hire that person - the examples are limitless.

There is an amazing thing about God. He can make our crooked places straight. He has an ability to make whatever blunder you make turn out right. It may mean there might be some consequences to those decisions, but He will always allow your actions to work together for good for those called according to His purposes if we repent and seek Him fully to make things right. These lessons can even contribute to greater wisdom in our lives if we learn from our mistakes.

God's omnipotence is always one step ahead of our incompetence. Do you think He knew you would make that misstep? Absolutely. Do you think your life was planned even with that misstep figured in? Absolutely.

Isn't it comforting to know you cannot plan God out of the equation no matter how bad you mess up? He will always turn crooked places into straight places for those who are humble and contrite.

Do you need a crooked place straightened out today? Ask Him to straighten the course so you can flow in His perfect will for your life.

Muslim Demographics - YouTube Video

This video is quite eye opening. You'll just have to watch it to see. Makes me pray for many children, even though I'm already 34!
