Sunset Beach

One of the benefits of living in South Carolina is that it only takes a few hours to get to the Atlantic Ocean. Mark and I made a quick beach trip a little over a week ago and it was so relaxing. I could have had a couple more days to sun on the beach and swim in the ocean, but I'm thankful for these few days God provided us with. Below are some pictures of the place we stayed, The Sunset Inn in Sunset Beach, NC, where our room had a screened in porch facing the intercoastal waterway. There are also pictures of a sunrise, the ocean, etc.

WOW! Looks like a beautiful place for sure! Makes me want to come down there and head to the beach with both of you guys. The house and the view are absolutely gorgeous! I bet it felt nice to get away from everything for a little while...just rest and enjoy the peaceful scenery. How did you guys find the Inn that you ended up staying at?

Mark - thanks for the comment. I believe I just found the inn by searching for places to stay at Sunset Beach. This is the second time we have stayed there. We were actually there for Thanksgiving in 2007. I have a coworker who recommended Sunset Beach because her family has a beach house there. It is not as touristy as a lot of places because there are no hotels, just beach houses and this one inn. There is a market and a couple of other places where you can rent bikes, boogie boards, etc. It is lovely but expensive.

Good to know! I may have to look into that for one of our anniversaries coming up. Take care and say hey to Molly, Major, and "General" Mark for me! Miss all of you guys!

I'll watch the baby so come on down and visit the beach next June on your anniversary!!! :-) BTW - they actually don't let children under 12 stay at this inn so I'd have to watch the baby anyway.

Sounds like a great plan! It will be a blast to have a little baby around but I'm sure Mom and Dad will need some rest at that point after the 3-4 months of sleepless nights. Thanks Mel!

What a gorgeous place, Mel! It looks like such a great place to relax... I love the sound of the ocean so much. I just read the comments by you and Mark above and I'm SO for an anniversary trip. And I know that our little one will love spending time with Uncle Mark and Auntie Mel!

Beautiful pictures. We had so much fun when we went to the beach in Charleston with you. That was such a fun day! I miss you!
